Jesus provided through His Demeanor, His Words, and His Deeds This repeatedly caused tension among the religious authorities, especially the high-priestly clan of Annas and his son-in-law Caiaphas. During the massive pilgrimage festivals, maintaining public order was considered the most important thing that had to be ensured. Yet it was precisely this sensitive issue that seemed to be seriously jeopardized by Yeshua’s actions.

For just a few days before Passover, it happened that the worst problem of all for the authorities. Jesus entered Jerusalem riding a donkey colt. He revealed himself as the Messiah, allowed himself to be celebrated, and fulfilled yet another messianic promise from the Old Testament. The entire city—along with hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who had come for the festival—“sprang into action.” The teachers of the law were on edge. A true “worst-case scenario.” And Yeshua didn't become any more conformist or subdued. Quite the opposite. Things were building up to a decisive climax…
