Zion — a word with a wealth of associations. It is a term that describes the dwelling place of God, the house of the Lord, the place he has chosen for himself: Yerushalayim, Jerusalem: "The LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place." (Psalm 132:13)

It is the place of praise and worship, both in the natural and in the spiritual sense. Sigrid looks with you at this place so important for all of us … the place where YHWH wrote and continues to write history; the place where he installed his king David; the place where the Messiah worked, was condemned, suffered and died for us, gloriously rose from the dead, and ascended victoriously into heaven.

Again and again the prophets of the Old Covenant mention Zion as an anchor of Israel's hope and speak out the promises that the Lord will triumph over all enemies. Zion stands for the city of joy, of longing, of praise, of coming home

You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering!
Hebrews 12:22
