Your Identity in Christ
As believers, we have tremendous privileges. It is important that we develop an understanding of who we truly are as “new creatures” in Jesus Christ, and what position and authority we hold.
A special privilege that we are often completely unaware of is the ability to enter into God’s presence at any time. As the Letter to the Hebrews puts it, we may approach the throne of grace at any time.
And not only that—according to the New Testament, as Christians we are temples of the Holy Spirit, that is, His dwelling place. He is in us. And He wants to use us to build the Kingdom of God, to save people, and to let streams of living water flow from us.
A sermon that broadens your horizons and calls you to take action and embrace all that the Lord has in store for you.
May he enlighten the eyes of your hearts, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength.
Ephesians 1:18-19
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need!
Hebrews 4:16
Now that we, brothers, have confidence to approach the throne of grace through the blood of Jesus, Entry into the Sanctuary, which he has opened for us—a new and living way through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and a great priest over the house of God—let us then draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled and thus cleansed from a guilty conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:19–22
