Your Spiritual Arsenal of Weapons
When we stand up against the enemy, we need to know under what authority we stand, who is at our side, and who fights our spiritual battles with us. You belong to God's army, you are not alone, and you are not unarmed. God has given us magnificent spiritual weapons so that we can boldly confront the enemy in these confrontations.
Sigrid talks about a small selection of these spiritual weapons, among others the sword, that is, the word of God. We do not carry it in our hand like a natural sword, but in our mouth.
The staff that Moses used as an outward sign of God's power — the staff of authority — helped him and the whole people of Israel out of great distress. Moses used it when the sea lay before them and the enemy threatened behind them. Isn't that often exactly our situation? That's why it's good to be informed about the weapons the Lord has entrusted to us. We are not without protection when we march into confrontations with the enemy!
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth , and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet on your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:11-17
The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds; so we destroy exaggerated speculations and every height that rises up against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
He trains my hands for war, and my arms bend a bow of bronze
2 Samuel 22:35
