The white veil — in Western culture it is one of the attributes of a bride and stands as a symbol of purity and innocence. If we look into the Bible, we discover that veils are mentioned there in several respects and have a fascinating significance — in a spiritual sense too. 

Sigrid looks with you at what the veil is all about — as a sign of covering, of concealment, of setting apart for the One, the bridegroom. In biblical wedding ceremonies the bride was brought to the bridegroom deeply veiled. This is an important picture for us as the "bride people" going out to meet the bridegroom.

And then there is also the curtain in the tabernacle and the temple, which fulfilled a very similar function. Through Jesus, who tore this "veil," we have free access with unveiled face to the throne of God's grace.

And we all, with unveiled face, reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
