It happened in the night. Pharaoh had not been willing to relent. A dreadful foreboding had crept over the Egyptians. Something tremendous was threatening, something dreadful, something inescapable. The air was warm and the sky was clear. It was a full moon. And yet the people were struck with dread, for they sensed, no, they knew, that something was coming that would strike them to the very core of their being. 

The biblical account of the first Passover is of greater significance for us here and now than most of us suspect. Martin talks with you about how that night was a unique, prophetic night of significance for all eternity — it was the night of freedom, the night of the Passover lamb, the night of the blood on the wood. For months beforehand there had been disasters, stress, and problems. The pharaonic system had increasingly been thrown into turmoil, and at some point it came to an escalation, a showdown. Everything was building toward this one special night: Passover — the climax of the confrontation!
