The joy of God is not dependent on everything going perfectly. It springs from His presence and your relationship with Him. It comes from knowing: God is there. He has not abandoned me. He holds me. He leads me. He is far from finished.
The first Christians did not live in easy circumstances. They experienced opposition, persecution and affliction. Nevertheless they were not filled with fear and a spirit of fearor with anguish and a spirit of despair, but quite the opposite: with joy and the Holy Spirit.
With Holy Communion—please prepare.
And the disciples were filled with joyand with the Holy Spirit.
