In the Gospel of Luke we find the account of the healing of a woman who had been bent over for 18 years, paralyzed, crippled. This dear old woman – a daughter of Abraham, as Jesus called her – was set free after the devil had held her in terrible bondage for almost two decades. You would think that everyone would have rejoiced over what Jesus had done. But no! The religious authorities were offended, because He had done it on the “wrong day” – namely on the Sabbath.

The religious spirit is a demonic power, which appears pious but resists and blocks the true plans and works of God. Religion will debate about healing and argue about deliverance rather than see someone set free.
