There were times in my life when I proclaimed: "I will have a testimony!" By that I meant that precisely out of the things that press upon me so severely, a testimony of God's intervention would grow. God will transform what the enemy had intended for evil against me into a testimony to his honor.

In the Bible we read again and again of people who were under great distress. But through the intervention of the Lord, these phases of the most difficult challenges ultimately became encouraging testimonies that still inspire us today.

The letter to the Romans describes that distress and challenging circumstances can come into our lives. But they cannot separate us from the love of our Lord. If you are stuck in distressing situations, then declare that you too will have a testimony of how the Lord helped you through, how his love carried you through, how your relationship with him became ever closer and more intense, and so on.

Declare quite deliberately as well: "I will have a testimony!"

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
Romans 8:35

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither things present nor things to come, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
