In some Bible passages the Bible calls on us to submit to the authorities and to pray for them. Until recently this was not a major topic for most Christians, but in parallel with the measures of the past months, in many circles there was suddenly a vehement call to be subject to the authorities and to "bless" them in prayer without restriction.

Martin looks with you a bit more closely at the relevant Bible passages. How far should — or rather, may — submission go? Under what authority do we, as the body of Christ, stand? Can there even be a second authority alongside this one at all? How can we pray correctly? And where exactly is the boundary of Christian obedience?

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good!
