Time to Set Out
The word “Passover”, which is the Hebrew name for Passover, is a strange word. Originally, in the Exodus from Egypt When we use it, we encounter it again in unexpected places in the Bible. Among other places, in the "Showdown" between Elijah and the priests of Baal on Mount Carmel, which, just as in Moses' time centuries earlier, involves a confrontation with a powerful, anti-divine system of rule.
Martin talks about the various meanings of this word and how, back then, it was about a decision that had to be made. And we, too, must make that very same decision. For the prophetic word is clear: This world system will come to an end – and God calls on us to go out.
Come out of her, my people,, so that you may not share in their sins and so that you may not suffer their plagues!
