Historians tell us that, in addition to the Sadducees and the Pharisees, there was a third religious group: the Essenes. The Bible, however, makes no mention of this term. What kind of people were these who called themselves “devoted to God”? and were full of anticipation for the coming of the Messiah? Are there hidden references to them in the New Testament—references that are actually quite significant for us?

Also: The term “Messiah” means “the Anointed One.” This raises the question: When exactly was Jesus anointed? And by whom?
Then, in the New Testament, we find the terms “Jesus the Nazarene” and “Jesus the Nazarite.” Are they actually the same thing?
The Gospels record Yeshua's genealogy in two places. When viewed in a realistic light, however, these ancestral lines look anything but messianic.
