Many Bible readers have hardly any understanding of the situation and circumstances under which Jesus' ministry took place 2000 years ago. And so quite a few have a false picture of him, for example one of a conformist, system-loyal, authority-obeying softy. But if we go more deeply into the texts of the Gospels, we recognize that Yeshua was highly provocative. He did not care about religious conventions, provoked the various authorities, and continually caused offense. And through his behavior and his deeds he continually pointed to the fact that he was the promised Messiah. But this created powerful enemies for him.
