The Bible speaks of the race of faith and the battle connected with it. Running and fighting — two images with the same message. We are trained so that we can actually run, victoriously, the race set before us, and successfully fight the good fight of faith. For there is an adversary who has positioned himself against us. He doesn't want us to live in victory, to reach the goal, or to bring people into the kingdom of God.

For some time now, Sigrid has been engaging afresh with these two important subjects of our life of faith. Through the example of the athletic contest, the Lord shows us how important it is to stick with it, not to hold back, and to give everything — for there is a high prize to be won. It's about our activity, our effort, and our devotion, so that his plans and purposes come forth in our lives.

An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
