The biblical account of Lot — Abraham's nephew — is not a success story. Rather the opposite. Can the life picture of someone who was "so far off track" say something to us today, and perhaps even encourage us?

Sigrid continues looking with you at the strange story of Lot. He is an example of someone who starts out well in faith, but then increasingly lets his thinking be influenced by the world. His story teaches us to be watchful; to hold fast to what we have received; not to deviate from the calling the Lord has given us; and to run our race of faith in a focused way. And it teaches us about the tremendous power of intercession.

Brothers, if anyone is caught in a transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.
