In the Old Testament we find a peculiar incident reported in strikingly precise detail in connection with Ahab and Jezebel. It revolves around a vineyard belonging to a man named Naboth. In the end it comes to an intrigue, to lies, deceit, false witnesses, robbery, and treacherous murder. People in positions of authority willingly do Jezebel's dirty work.
