God Is Doing New Things

As human beings we only ever see one section. We interpret what lies before us from our present perspective – with our experiences, hopes and fears. But what God has for us can be completely different and far greater than it appears at this moment.

An ancient legend helps us to see this. Duke Henry of Bavaria sees mysterious words and at first understands them as an announcement of his approaching death. Everything seems clear. Yet years later it becomes apparent: what looked like the end was in truth the beginning of an exaltation.

It is often the same in our lives. We see single events, fragments, open questions. But God sees the whole picture. What looks to us like delay, loss or an ending can be part of His way, whose goal we cannot yet see.
