We live in the time of the population explosion. Currently a little over 7 billion people live on the globe. That is more people than there have been in all of human history before, taken together.

It took almost 6,000 years for the world population to pass 1 billion (around the year 1800). By 1900 there were already 2 billion people. The number doubled in just 100 years. Since then the curve of the population explosion has been shooting upward. That is why over 50% of the world's population are children.

Between 700 million and 1 billion people are considered Bible-believing. They know Jesus Christ personally (have begun a life as a follower of Jesus after a personal conversion).

About 700 million are Pentecostal or charismatic Christians of all groupings. They clearly have the largest growth rate and make up about 10% of the world's population.

Charismatics are the majority of all Bible-believing Christians worldwide.

Over 85% of all missionaries working today are a "consequence" of the Pentecostal outbreak at Azusa Street.

The first 500 Bible translations took 1,900 years.
The next 500 translations took only 50 years.
The next 500 took only 30 years. And then only 16 years.
By 2020, all languages are to be covered with the Gospel in their own language.

80% of people already have access to the whole Bible in their own language. 95% of people already have access to the New Testament in their own language.

It is estimated that today, worldwide, almost 500,000 Christians die a martyr's death every year.

Overall, Christianity is growing dramatically. It is estimated at around 90 million people per year. Other sources speak of a growth of "only" about 1 million people per week, i.e. around 50 million.
