Many Christians are under demonic influence for the sole reason that they were never taught how to defend themselves against it. For years they struggle with dubious problems, unexplainable setbacks, and difficult circumstances. It's important to recognize what happens spiritually in our lives in such cases, and to accept that there can be something in us that is working against us in a negative way.

When we have an understanding of our authority as children of God and of our powerful weapons (the word of God, the name of Jesus, the blood shed on the cross, among others), we can specifically go up against these destructive forces — even within ourselves.
