In our culture, we have a certain idea of revenge. And this view is entirely negative. Revenge is primitive. It brings to mind an almost instinctive use of physical or psychological violence—vigilante justice, lynching, blood feuds. Yet this notion does not correspond to what the Bible says about revenge.

Today, Martin is going to talk to you about this rarely discussed topic. What exactly is revenge? How is The Biblical Understanding of Revenge And why does the Bible so often speak of God taking vengeance—indeed, that there is a “Day of Revenge“Will there be one?” Let me explain why our Lord’s vengeance is a brilliant, hopeful, and inspiring theme.
