The Messiah – Part 3: Snubbed Fans and False Messiahs
During the years of His ministry, Jesus stood out above all for one thing in His conduct toward the authorities: He caused a lot of stress! He did not adhere to convention, constantly broke the Oral Law, the Mishnah, and at the same time proved through His deeds that He was the promised Messiah. The people were as fascinated as they were perplexed, because He did not fit the image of the Messiah that had been instilled in them from childhood. Was He a false savior, of whom there had already been several at that time?
Today, Martin talks with you about how Jesus changed His ministry after the Sanhedrin (High Council) condemned Him for being demon-possessed, and how He Himself snubbed His most loyal followers and fans and alienated many. And he talks about one of Jesus' most impressive miracles, which once again dramatically underscored His claim to be the Messiah. He also takes a look with you at false messiahs who had come to steal, to kill, and to murder.
When the Christ comes, will he perform more signs than the ones this man performed?
