We usually use the word “membership” without giving it a second thought. But the German language is remarkably precise in this case. Anyone who is a member of something is a “Mit-Glied,” that is, A member of this “body,” this organization, this institution, this system. Membership means being connected, being one with it, having a share in it, and being a firm part of it.

Now Every born-again child of God, as part of the ekklesia, is a member of the body of Christ. Jesus is the head, and we are the body. Is it really possible, then, to be a fellow member somewhere in the world as well? Or can that spiritual consequences What consequences might this have? Perhaps some we don't even want?

Martin is going to talk to you today about The Spiritual Aspects of “Membership”. He wants to raise your awareness of this challenging topic and encourage you to reflect on it. After all, membership is a big deal in the spiritual realm.
