"Holy" refers to something set apart from the ordinary, something that belongs to God. A person or thing becomes holy when God accepts it as His own. The ability to be holy is a gift from God to us. He gives it to all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and have been born again.

We now belong to God. And when we are holy, we are “different” from the world around us. The Bible calls on us to offer our bodies to God as a holy sacrifice. We are to make more and more room for the Holy Spirit in our lives. Living a holy life also requires our active participation.
