Our heart is vital to life. As an organ it is the central engine of our blood circulation and completely indispensable. Day and night it beats without ceasing and supplies our whole body with life. But at the same time, the term "heart" describes far more than just a physical organ. In the Bible, the heart stands for the innermost realm of our being — the place of our thoughts, decisions, longings, and our faith. Romans 10:10 puts it so fittingly: "With the heart one believes." Faith is a matter of the heart.

But when it comes to God: can one even speak of him having a heart? Is that just a human image, or is there more behind it? 

Today Sigrid gets to the bottom of this question using the Bible. Together we will look at various Bible passages and discover how God reveals himself to us in a very personal way.

And therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
