The Bridge and the Kingdom of God
Imagine a huge, bottomless chasm. On one side lies the kingdom of the world with all its misery, distress, pain, suffering, injustice, destruction, and discord. On the other side lies the kingdom of God. There is the life God has intended for us, full of blessing, joy, fulfillment, purpose, peace, righteousness, acceptance, meaning…
There is only a single way across this gigantic chasm; it is a bridge God has built: the cross. The most important thing in every person's life is to get onto this bridge. There is nothing more important. Hundreds of millions have accepted this for themselves.
Yet countless people step onto the bridge, only to then stop and stand there.
But that is not the place where you and I belong. We are meant to cross the bridge into the promised land, to the place of blessing and destiny that God has prepared for us, instead of milling about on the bridge.
Where are you? At the entrance of the bridge? In the middle of it? Or are you already moving forward in God's purposes and in your destiny? Step into what God has planned for you. Cross the bridge resolutely and step actively into the kingdom of God.
Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
