We are just coming out of our 2025 fasting and prayer time on the theme: God Inspires! Over the past three weeks we have again and again reflected on enthusiasm and joy and made ourselves aware of everything the Lord has done for us.

The prophet Isaiah connects joy with harvest. As Sigrid thought about this, she remembered the harvest fields that Jesus says are ripe, and that he is seeking workers for. Ones who stoop for the fallen stalks, who don't shy away from effort, who don't constantly talk about ground that's too hard, about poor opportunities, about too little time. Ones who are in the harvest work with joy.

There is a book in the Bible that speaks throughout of the time of harvest. Contained in it is the biography of two women. It is fascinating, and every time you read it you can discover a different point of emphasis. Today it's about starting into the harvest with new joy.

You multiply the rejoicing, you make the joy great. They rejoice before you, as one rejoices at the harvest
