It goes without saying: before we can put on new clothes, we have to take off the old ones. The New Testament picks up on this and talks about how we, too, we must exchange our clothes in spirit. We have to let go of the old, cast it aside, and put on something new. Not just throw something over it or pretend we’re wearing a new piece of clothing, but a make a radical change and create something truly new. 

Sigrid talks about how important it is to “Victory Over Old Clothes "to have." Maybe some things have crept in, maybe something was forced upon you, or maybe you have to consciously "take something off" and remove it so you can put on something new?

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who are united with Christ through baptism have Christ, clothed as in new garments
