The Book of Habakkuk contains some remarkable statements "toward the end". It is the dialogue between the man of God and Yahweh—and this conversation is quite something. For the prophet lived in a time moral and spiritual decline, by Upheaval and Turmoil. Things like corruption, oppression, idolatry, and injustice were commonplace. His nation, Judah, was internally divided and under external threat— a ticking time bomb.

Martin has studied this book, which consists of only three chapters, and is convinced that what Habakkuk saw is relevant to us here and now—indeed, a message that perfectly applies to our situation today includes. This is as alarming as it is encouraging, as sobering as it is inspiring.

"Will it not be so, says the LORD of Hosts: What the nations have labored to build must be consumed by fire, and what the people have toiled to produce must be lost?"
Habakkuk 2:13
