Day 17 – The Person with the Greatest Joy
According to the New Testament, there is such a thing as “"utter joy." In other words, a joy that fills a person, permeates them completely, and overflows. Jesus spoke of this perfect joy in the High Priestly Prayer, which only God can bestow.
The term “Messiah“ means (just like “Christ”) “the Anointed One.” But what anointing did Jesus actually receive from God the Father? It is the “Anointing of Joy.” An anointing that clearly set Him apart from His companions—that is, the people who were traveling with Him, who belonged to Him, His team, His people. Jesus was the person with the greatest joy.
With Holy Communion—please prepare.
For the Kingdom of God is … peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
